Tour wrist won the judges' award at coolTECH, the Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s event showing casing new technologies and cutting edge innovations.

ZVRS was the runner-up and altorr was awarded honorable mention.

Tour wrist, based in Hyde Park, is an online and mobile marketing platform using virtual 360 tours. ZVRS, headquartered in Clearwater, provides a video relay service for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Altorr, a Largo comapny, is developing products that give the disabled equal access to technology.

Anyone involved in the technology business, and the Internet in particular, is part of something much bigger in the world, said Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist and craigconnects, and the featured speaker at the event, held at the Museum of Science and Industry.

“One big lesson from craigslist is that we can listen to people and do something about [their concerns],” said Newmark, who remains a customer service representative for craigslist. Customer service is closely tied to public service and philanthropy, in his view. "We listen to people, we act on what makes sense, and then we listen again."
